Azerbaijan museum
Location: Imam St., above Saat square
Azerbaijan Museum, located near the Blue Mosque on Imam St., is the second most important museum in Iran after the National Museum of Tehran. Azerbaijan Museum is located next to the historical cemetery site dating back over 3000 years. The plan of Azarbaijan museum is inspired by the architecture of Azerbaijan and designed by André Godard, a French archeologist.
The museum houses important artifacts representing the history and civilization of ancient Iran. Domestic and foreign tourists call the museum one of the best tourist attractions of Tabriz. This museum for the first time began to work in 1957 with showing 202 pieces from cultural transitional works from Iran Bastan museum. The museum’s current building officially opened and began to work in 1962.
A whole range of unique items dating back to ancient Persia are on display at the museum, including old coins and a library with three thousand volumes of books as well as conceptual and artistic statues. Also on show are clayware items dating back seven thousand years, making them the oldest antiquities on display at the museum.
The objects of this museum belong to the pre-Islamic and Islamic periods. The building has 3 floors. Basement floor of museum is related to sculptor and painter Ahad Hosseini’s works.
On the ground floor, you can see the pre-Islamic and Islamic period. The Bismillāh stone and the famous skulls of man and woman belonging to the Stone Age are also kept on this floor.
On the first floor of Azerbaijan Museum, the oldest objects date back to the 4th century. On the   first floor, there are also coins and seals in the hall, which is the treasure of coins from the Achaemenid period to the Qajar period.
The following are some of the most important objects of this museum:
  • A rare coin of Naderi period called the world’s largest coin.
  • Bismillāh stone made by Mohammad Ali Ghouchani in Nastaliq script, which is unique in its kind. The stone has five parts; four parts of which are the frame and the remaining part is text.
  • The skulls of man and woman dating back to 3,000 years ago, discovered around the Kabud Mosque.
  • The statue of female Goddess that was discovered in Rostamabad, Gilan province, and shows the importance and value of woman in ancient Persia.
  • The hat of Urartu which is unique in its own kind.

Literary Museum of Shahriyar
Location:Maqsudye street,behind city hall
The house of Seyyed Mohammad Hussein Behjat –e- Tabrizi (famously known as Shahriyar), the reputed contemporary Iranian poet, was bought by Tabriz municipality and was named as "the literary Museum of Shahriyar". In this museum, the collection of Shahriyar's artistic works, handwritings, personal belongings, and gifts given by national and foreign dignitaries are exhibited.
The most prominent work of Master Shahriyar is his precious Persian & Turkish Divan(poetry), the most important part of which is a long verse named "Heiradbabaya Salam" translated to over 70 live languages throughout the world.

Tabriz Armenian museum
Location:Shariati St.
Azerbaijan caliphate Armenians in 1966 next to saint Mary's church, an established museum called the museum of the Azerbaijan Armenian caliphate church.
In this museum precious cultural relics, such as liner books, manuscripts, scrolls, commands, awards, paintings, coins, pearls, weapons, walking sticks, silver ware, copper, earthen, porcelain, crystals, ornaments and brocade fabrics, sculptures and wood carving and Inlay.
Some of the objects in the museum that is related to the history and culture of armenians is important for them; including wood carving seat in the year 1728 AD in armenia was built for Archbishop of the church of Akhtamar in van lake. During events in 1895 AD archbishop of the church with scepter and perforated bell was transferred to Tabriz caliphate. The built date of crutches is in 1825 AD and the bell is in 1831 AD.
Crowns, award sand several cross in the occurrence of these events was transferred to Tabriz. Big church candlesticks of Astpanus and Santataos and big bell and inlay door of the church also was transferred to Tabriz.
Museum of professor Behtoni
Professor Behtoni's art museum, is one of the tourist attractions in Tabriz inside Maqbarat-Ol-Shoara has a particular value.Master Bentony is sculpture to have an interesting initiative for the firs time in the world has made about five thousand colored statues of Iranian food that every one may eat and taste of theme during his life.
The sculptures are all plaster and cement and with herbal colors wich is made himself, decorated them so that it has no different with the original food.

Tabriz natural history museum
Location:Azadi st, before Abrasan sq, East Azarbaijan environment organization.
The natural history museum is related to department of East Azarbaijan.This museum includes taxidermy sculptures of various animals in Azarbaijan that arranged scientifically and display in special showcase.This Museum is a  rare museum of its kind in the country and is consider the tourist attractions of the province.
Koozeh Konan House (Constitution Museum)
Historical period: Qajar era
Location: Rasteh Kucheh( Motahari Street)
Constitution museum as one of the historical houses of Tabriz with original architecture of Qajar era, attributed to one of constitution warriors named Hajj Mehdi Koozeh Konani, is considered as a historic evidence of constitution movement of Iran in Tabriz.
The house was constructed in 1868 by a famous architect, Hajj Vali M’emar and used as the site of constitution leaders, and Azerbaijan zealots, i.e. all provincial meetings were held there.
The house was built in 2 floors in an area of 1300 square meter. In this building, after main entrance, there is a vestibule. In addition, a beautiful pool with artistic brickwork and tow-sided stairs connecting two floors are some of its features. On the second floor, a beautiful pavilion with wooden nets, stained glasses and unique mirrorwork have added to the beauties of the building.
The house was chosen as constitution museum in 1996, in which properties, documents and pictures related to constitution movement are kept. Among historical properties of the house, Sattar Khan’s pistols, constitution carpet and personal belongings of constitution leaders can be mentioned.
Constitution house was inscribed in the list of Iran’s national properties (No. 1171) in 1975.
Quran and Ketabat museum
Location:darayi st.saheb ol amr sq.saheb ol amr building.
Shah Tahmaseb Safavi ‘s mosque building is located in the east part of Sahib Abad sq in the heart of Tabriz city next to Mehran river. This monument has a tall dome and two minarets and at first, mosque was particularly for Shah Tahmasp Safavi in 1624 which was destroyed by the Sultan Murad IV Ottoman empire’s armies.
According to sanctity of this building after the necessary changes this location considered as the Quran and Ketabat museum. In this museum collection of precious manuscripts of the holy Quran in various periods of history and beautiful pieces of the works of famous calligraphers have been shown.

Anthropology and Moharram museum
Location: martyr Motahari St. Ghovany alley.
The location of the museum, is one of the oldest houses known SEHATI’S home which is a  a historical and cultural house in Tabriz city. Sehati’s home with brick facade is one of the most beautiful old houses in Tabriz. This home during Dr.A.SEHATI’S life time in Moharram mourning ceremonies was considered used as a Hosseinieh by members. Shati’s home in 1999 was registered In national heritage list and subsequent restoration and consolidation of the operations carried out and  after completing was used as a museum of anthropology and Muharram.
Iron age museum
Location: Imam St,next to the Blue mosque.
Located on the north, northwest and northeast of the Blue Mosque, the site of Iron Age museum of Tabriz dates back to Iron ages 2 and 3, 1st millennium BC. The site consists of a cemetery, potteries related to Iron age, some skeletons, jewelries, objects and...
The place was discovered through the archeological excavations of the Blue Mosque in 1997. Due to some pre-historical remains, residence history of the place is thought to be 1500 B.C in gray clay civilization. These findings prove that Tabriz has a rich residence history as old as at least 4500 years. Today, the site named as Iron Age museum, is visited by all people interested in the history & civilization of Iran and the globe.

Sanjesh museum

Antiquity: Qajar period
Location: Maqsudieh Street, behind City Hall,Salmasi impasse.
In this Museum types of tools and devices to measure time as old and artistic types of clocks made in different countries, all types of instruments to measure weight, including small scales and large steelyard special assessment instruments for measuring length and other measures are displayed. This museum is built in pleasant old house of Salmasi. This house belongs to the early Qajar and was built by Salmasi family who was an old family in Tabriz.


Alavi House (Pottery Museum)
Location: Shams Tabrizi St,Gharov Station,Srafflar alley.
Pottery Museum or Alavi House is the identity evidence of handicrafts and visual arts of Tabriz with the focus on pottery of Qajar era.
The main façade of the building has a portico erected on two firm columns with a glorious pediment in the center. The pediment decorated with beautiful stucco-works is a great representation of eminent thoughts of architects belonging to that era.
In the museum, some valuable works of two potters Ahmad and Abbas Ghabchi (who lived in Sorkhab district of Tabriz 65 years ago) are exhibited.
In present time, Pottery is taught practically in this museum. In addition, it is a site to exhibit contemporary potters of Tabriz.

Tabriz Municipality Edifice
Location: Imam Khomeini Avenue, Saat square, city hall.

The Municipality Edifice of Tabriz, considered as symbol of municipality of Iran, located on Sa’at Square of Tabriz, is one of the most beautiful picturesque and firm buildings of Tabriz.
This edifice , as the prominent building of all Iranian city halls, was founded (with the cost of 250000 Tomeans in 4 years) upon command of Arfa’-ol Molk Jalili (the mayor of Tabriz in that era) under supervision of German engineers on German architecture before world war I in 1907. Its façade is as a flying eagle. 

This unique place, also known as the symbol of Tabriz metropolis in Iran and globe, has always served as a city hall to govern municipal affairs.  Therefore, the building became the first municipal museum of Iran in 2007(simultaneous with celebrations of 100'Th anniversary of opening of municipal activities in Iran). The museum is unique in its type after municipal museum of China.
Among brilliant features of the place, beside its firmness and strength ever after 8 decades of its establishment, its clock tower of 30.5 meters ringing every 15 minutes is one of the attractive ones.
Municipality Edifice of Tabriz, considered as the only and first municipal museum of all Iranian cities, possesses some museums such as Tabriz carpet, early cameras, contemporary arts, calligraphy, wisdom, service, press & publications, mayors and….
These halls exhibit valuable objects such as chinaware, itineraries Written about Tabriz, gifts given to executives by foreigners, old photos of Tabriz and the largest stand carpet of the world.
 Tabriz municipally edifice has been registered in the list of Iran’s national relics.

Qajar Museum (Amir Nezam Garosi House)
Location: Sheshgelan St,Next industries and mines organization.
Amir Nezam Garosi House was constructed in the period of the crown prince Abbas Mirza, ruling period of Nasser al-din Shah. The two-story Amir Nezam edifice with its introverted architecture has 1500 square meters area and two private and public yards, beautiful capitals keep the porch of the hall. On the second floor sash windows with stained glasses, unique stucco and mirror works call all visitors attention.
Qajar Museum possesses 9 salons, historical coins, woven objects, chinaware, glasses and commands, the most important of which is the coronation memorial of Mozafar-al-din Shah.
Caricature museum
Location: In the Baghe Golestan.
Tabriz Caricature museum is the first caricature museum in asia and fifth in the world. The museum is located in  Baghe Golestan in the former place of national library of Tabriz.
For the first time in 1906, a caricature entered  in the  the culture and art  media By Mollanasreddin  newspaper. This newspaper due to the use of caricature for their content among people specially  less educated people had specific place.
Press museum
Antiquity:at commissioning
Location:Tarbiyat St, Hariri’s home.
Established the first press museum in Tabriz city as the first city; is a Gift for thanks and appreciation of activists about the East Azarbaijan.
Now many of the documents and papers of the last century, especially in the era of constitutional get old in the organizations and individuals cellars.Certainly collecting half a century of our country And Azerbaijan  press in such a museum while preserving this written documents for the future is a Perfect place to do research and various projects in the history of the press.
War museum

Location:Yaghchyan City, Shamim Paydary Park
The idea of construction war museum park has been suggested for the first time in East Azer baijan province and  Municipality of Tabriz has made good progress in building parks and the project of museums and it is hoped with the support of executive management, Construction of war museum  to have sufficient funds, and better acceleration.
The park construction  began in 2006 , but for various reasons the process of development was not acceptable, in recent years municipality of Tabriz due to the need to accelerate the implementation of this project, to completion and the preparation procedures  the first phase of the project  Shamim  park was opened in 2009. After completing part of the park, Tabriz municipality recently  attempted to build War park  museum , This great collectionis about  5 thousand 600 square meters and institutions such as Tabriz Municipality and  Ashura Sepah are participating in its construction.
Heidarzadeh House

Historical period: Qajar era
Location: south of Tabriz city hall
Heidarzadeh edifice is one of the most beautiful historical houses of Tabriz. Constructed in circa 1870,it is a two-story house with private and public yards and 900 square meter area. Among brilliant features of the building, the most obvious ones are an indoor pool in its basement, engraved sash windows with stained glasses and also patterned brickworks.
